We learn how to build a refrigeration system and a refrigerator.

What is the environmental impact of the energy sector?

What is energy transition?

Want to build your own homemade refrigerator and cooler?

In this theoretical-practical workshop we will learn some basic concepts about refrigeration, how poor air conditioning affects our health or what are the environmental impacts generated by the use of refrigeration systems.

Air conditioning and climate control equipment are some of the most energy consuming appliances in our homes. Therefore, the second part of this workshop will consist of learning in a practical, simple and participatory way to build a low-cost air conditioning system and a homemade refrigerator. In its construction we will use recycled materials and we will verify that they are simple to execute and effective, as they will help us to cool the environment of our homes, reduce our ecological footprint and reduce our electricity costs.

In the first case, we will create an air conditioning system using the phenomenon known as the Venturi Effect by using recycled plastic bottles to generate a simple design that helps lower the temperature by up to 5 degrees. In the second case, we will elaborate a homemade Pot-in-Pot refrigerator that works without electricity. For this we will use the principle of evaporative cooling using completely common materials such as clay pots, sand and water.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For logistical reasons, the workshops must be communicated 10 days in advance.

The prices of the materials are indicated in the case that the attendees or the person contracting the workshop wants to keep the material produced, the workshop can be carried out without this cost.

The workshops are designed to adapt their complexity to the ages of the participants.

The total cost of the proposal will also depend on thetotal number of workshops selected as well as the number of units to be built in the corresponding workshops.

All our workshops are flexible both in terms of duration and number of participants, adapting to the training needs of each case, and different workshops can be combined.

The benefits of all our workshops are destined to reverse situations of energy poverty.
